Contemporary dance is taught by Rania Leontiou on Saturday mornings at High View Primary School.

At JDanceStudios our Contemporary class is a non-syllabus class to teach ballet pupils about alternative genre of dance to help improve their performance and confidence. Contemporary dance is a genre that developed in the mid twentieth century and has grown to become one of the dominant genres of dance with ballet. It incorporates many styles of dance including ballet, modern and jazz. It is often seen on the stages of musical productions and is known for its theatrical qualities.

Pupils can start taking these classes from seven years of age, when they are more able to learn the dance moves involved.
