J Dance Studios was formed by Jane Tilley during August 2002.
Jane Tilley LRAD AISTD RTS - teaches RAD ballet and ISTD modern & tap full-time. Jane was born in Derby and attended a local ballet school until at age 16 Jane she attended the Elmhurst Ballet School, Camberley. Jane completed the teacher training course at the Royal Academy of Dance, Battersea, obtaining her Licentiate in 1989. Jane then attended a musical theatre course at the London Studio Centre for a year. Jane has taught in Jersey, Spain, throughout Central America (including the Guatemala National Ballet), Brazil, at a private school in the Midlands and at the Maria Studio in West London. Jane is an Appointed Person, having completed the Basic First Aid (Module VI) course at the British Red Cross. Jane lives in Croydon with her husband Mark Pullen.
Michaela Rispin AISTD Dip CDE LCDD - teaches ISTD modern & tap on Saturdays at our Hayes School Studio. Michaela graduated from the London College of Dance in 1994 with vocational dance exams in Imperial, Cecchetti and RAD Ballet, ISTD tap, Modern and National dance, and the London College of Dance Diploma. Michaela ran her own dance school for approximately 12 years and during this time she was awarded an Associate Diploma in tap and a Certificate in Dance Education in Imperial ballet and ISTD tap & modern. Michaela also works full-time as Performing Arts Administrator and Dance Specialist at a Boys Secondary School, which has been successful in gaining Specialist Performing Arts Status.
Claire Reed ARAD IDTA (Graduate) - teaches RAD ballet at Wilsons School and Highfield Hall. Claire was brought-up in Newcastle, where she would become Northumbrian Junior Ballet Champion and later, Senior Ballet Champion. Claire has performed extensively, including in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (Original Cast), Spirit of Dance - UK Tour, The New Millennium Show - The Dome and Her Majesty's Forces (Falklands, Northern Ireland & Ascension). Claire lives locally with her family in Sutton.
Vicky Speed AISTD ALAM - teaches ballet at our Wilsons School studio. Vicky has performed extensively on television, film, radio, theatre, musicals and Christmas shows. Vicky lives locally with her family in Wallington.
Graeme Slate BA (Hons) – teaches drama and voice production. Graeme graduated from the ‘Arts Educational Schools’ drama course in 1986 and worked full time as an actor/singer until 1997. He worked in both theatre and TV leaving a run in Eastenders in 1997 to take up a career in teaching and mentoring. He gained a 2:1 in ‘performance studies’ when he returned to theatre study in 2003 from the 'City of London University'. Graeme works as a learning mentor for Lewisham Education and was voted ‘My best teacher’ by his peers in the Lewisham School Awards 2008/9.
